Sounds fantastic, Emma. Unbroken sleep, salty air, swimming and seafood sounds like exactly what I need - feel like going to Paddington right now and jumping on the next train to St Ives! I do find that, while routine is important, my best ideas come when I take a break from the routine, even if only for a short time. Hope that your novel idea turns out to be just as marvellous, or even more so, as you begin to flesh it out. If not, perhaps you can head back to the Hobblers House in search of more inspiration :-)

Thanks Emma for your remarks. I am so glad that you have not suggested a formal literary approach as your ideas sort of coincide with the way I think. I like the "fictional flashback" notion as that is exactly how my memories occur to me and I have to record them in my family history file. Seems to me that they would form the meat on the bones, to coin it, and I am sure a structure will come about. I am a bit lazy and easily distracted, so I think the way to begin would be to start with what I have already made notes on and expand from there. Wish me luck and thanks for taking the time to reply. Nick Thompson

I have a notebook obsession. I leap on pretty glittery notebooks in stationary shops, leather bound and handmade paper etc. etc. but can’t bring myself to write in them so I have piles of half-full cheapo exercise books and spiro pads. Oh dear.

Dropped in on the Legend Press website for the first time in ages, and followed it here. I like to know when people look me up, so I thought the least I could do was let you know I poked around a bit. I like the look.

This sounds like it's going to be a fun site for us writers. I've book marked it and will be checking in regularly. Good luck!
